BBC Radio 1 is making many big changes. Six presenters are leaving the station soon. This is a large change for the famous radio station. Some old presenters are leaving, and new people are coming to the station.

Three well-known presenters, Dean McCullough, Rickie Haywood-Williams, and Melvin Odoom, will leave. To find new presenters, the station is choosing famous people from social media. For example, TikTok stars GK Barry and Charley Marlowe will join the team. GK Barry has a popular podcast called Saving Grace. She will start her new radio shows in September.

Charley Marlowe will also work at the station. She will host shows from Friday to Sunday with Vicky Hawkesworth. Other presenters are also changing their jobs. Jeremiah Asiamah will take the places of Rickie Haywood-Williams and Melvin Odoom. He will also work with Charlie Hedges on the Live Lounge show.

The morning shows are changing too. Danny Mylo and Rosie Madison will host the Early Breakfast show. Emil Franchi will host the Weekend Breakfast show. There is also a new show called The Official Chart: First Look. Lauren Layfield will host this show on Sunday evenings from Birmingham.

The station wants to reach younger listeners who use social media every day. By using TikTok stars, BBC Radio 1 wants to connect with new fans. These changes show how radio is changing in a digital world.
